LIFE Conceptu Maris, the project in which Triton Research carries out management and communication activities, won the second prize, the “Classic Blue”, as part of the Make EU Blue Awards 2024, promoted by the EU4Ocean coalition, to promote Ocean Literacy in Europe. Around thirty European projects participated in the final selection, voted online by the public and by the EU4Ocean advisory committee. First and third prizes were awarded to the Sunset Docks and Blue Nights projects respectively.
In the case of LIFE Conceptu Maris, the complete e-learning course was considered particularly interesting for the crews of the shipping companies involved, which illustrates the risks that maritime traffic entails for cetaceans, promoting greater awareness.
The “Make EU Blue” initiative, developed by the European Union, aims to promote environmental sustainability and the protection of marine ecosystems through activities such as sustainable fishing, the conservation of marine biodiversity and the diffusion of circular economy practices in the maritime sector .
